LEBANON, Tenn. (NEXSTAR) — Country music superstar Luke Combs will swap his guitar for driving gloves as the honorary pace car driver at the Ally 400 NASCAR Cup Series event on Sunday. Combs, a multi-platinum artist and two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year, will drive the 2024 Ford Mustang Dark Horse at Nashville Superspeedway. Fans from as far away as New Zealand, Brazil and the Netherlands are expected to attend the race this weekend.

“A show with this much horsepower deserves plenty of star power too,” said Matt Greci, general manager for Nashville Superspeedway said in a press release. “You never know who will show up when NASCAR comes to the Music City for the Ally 400. We’re going to give Luke a fast car and see if he’s fast enough to drive away from the field of NASCAR’s best as we kick off Sunday’s showdown.”

Combs' appearance is part of a busy summer, with highlights including his new single “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma” from the “Twisters” movie soundtrack and a Country Music Hall of Fame exhibit. He is also on his record-breaking “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” stadium tour and will be featured on 23XI’s No. 23 Toyota for a new Columbia Sportswear hunting collection.

Fans can purchase a pre-race track pass for stage-front access to driver introductions and a concert by Tim Dugger. The Ally 400 event promises a thrilling blend of music and motorsports, making it a must-see for fans.
