MIAMI, Fla. (WFLA) — The Xfinity race at Homestead-Miami Speedway looked like a one-man show on Saturday.

Kyle Larson dominated the race, leading 129 laps and seemingly cruising to an easy win. He won the Baptist Health 200 truck race at the track on Friday night and was looking to add to the weekend's success.

Then, with just a few laps to go, Taylor Gray spun out, and the caution flag came out.

At the time, Larson was well ahead of his closest contender.

However, when the field bunched for the restart, Larson was tapped by the car behind him. His wheels spun, and he quickly fell back.

The caution opened the door for Justin Allgaier, who went on to take the checkered flag.

"The team never gave up, and when you have a team that rallies behind you and pushes you to be better and constantly on the radio, just telling me what I needed to do, it makes all of the difference in the world," Allgaier said after the race.

The Illinois native was fresh off a win in Las Vegas but started his day at the back of the field after a penalty from NASCAR. He then fought his way back into the top five.

"When you are able to drive yourself back into the top 10 pretty easily, I knew we had a really fast Chevrolet," said Allgaier.

Even he admits Larson was the dominant driver of the day.

"Kyle Larson was the best car today, no doubt, and his strength was the long run. Having an opportunity to race heads up with him on a short run, I knew that helped us," said Allgaier.

With the win, he also takes home $100,000 as the winner of the Dash 4 Cash from Xfinity and is the early-season leader in the series point standings.

Allgaier will look to continue his success at Martinsville Speedway on March 29 at 4 p.m., a race you can catch on the CW Network.
