TALLADEGA, AL. (CHARLOTTE SPORTS LIVE) -- The NASCAR Cup Series Playoff this weekend is in Talladega and what better way to shake things up than have a superspeedway where anyone has a chance to win?
Strategy and luck go hand-in-hand here and that can't be broken up for drivers with their eyes on the prize. With speeds of more than 200 mph, drivers will race three or even four across. Saving fuel could cost drivers key track positions late in the race.
Talladega Superspeedway's 2.5-mile track makes for the largest track in the NASCAR circuit. Banking is at a steep 33 degrees in turns one through four.
Dale Earnhardt Sr. has the most wins in Talladega with 10, but it's Brad Keselowski with six that's most among the active drivers.
When it comes to Cup Playoff racers, four of the six active Talladega playoff winners are playoff contenders in 2024- Chase Elliott, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Blaney and Joey Logano. William Bryon, on the other hand, is the driver in the field with the most laps led at Talladega without a win.
Sunday's YellaWood 500 from Talladega Superspeedway starts at 2 p.m.
